How to connect Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor to your TCGplayer store

Ask an assistant about the store you actually run: your listings, rules, sales, and sync status. Hoard connects that data and lets you review a proposed pricing-rule change before it applies.

Get your store's connection link

Sign in to Hoard and open Settings → Assistants (sign up first if you don't have a Hoard account yet). Copy your store's MCP connection link: https://mcp.tryhoard.com/mcp.

Add it as a custom connector in your assistant

In Claude, add a custom connector. In ChatGPT, enable Developer mode if your account or workspace allows it, then add the Hoard URL as a remote MCP connection. In Cursor or another MCP-capable client, add it as a remote MCP server. Client menus and permissions can change.

Approve the Hoard login

Your assistant opens a Hoard OAuth login. Approve it once — that authorizes the connection to your account, not a shared password, and read access works immediately.

Ask it about your store

Try a real question, like "which of my cards should I reprice?" or "what sold yesterday?" The answer uses the store data Hoard has synced. If you later grant write access in Settings → Assistants, check the action before asking: pricing-rule proposals need your approval, while some other actions take effect directly.

Which clients does this work with?

Choose the assistant you already use. Hoard has step-by-step setup guides for Claude, ChatGPT, and OpenAI Codex. Cursor supports the same remote MCP connection; add Hoard as a remote MCP server in Cursor's MCP settings. The exact menu path can vary by client.

Seller jobs worth asking about

Start with a question you'd normally answer by exporting a CSV or hunting through three tabs. Hoard gives the assistant your last-synced store data; check the sync date before treating a recent answer as current.

Find money left on the table: “Which Magic cards are more than 30% below market, sold in the last 30 days, and have the most upside?” See the underpriced-inventory walkthrough.
Audit a price move: “What changed in my store this week, and which movers should I price-check first?” Run a weekly pricing check.
Understand a rule before editing it: “Why is this card priced this way, and which rule governs it?” Follow the card-price explanation guide.
Read your sales without a spreadsheet: “What were gross sales, fees, and refunds in my last covered month—and who are my repeat customers?” For the next order, review that buyer's history and give them your own private rating in Hoard — that rating happens in Hoard, not through a chat command.
Get a safer rules draft: “Prepare separate pricing rules for bulk, foils, and protected inventory. Show me the impact before I approve anything.” Start with the pricing-strategy framework, then follow the approval-gated walkthrough.

For games where an AI model has thinner built-in knowledge, such as Lorcana, One Piece, Riftbound, or newer releases, asking it to read your store first matters even more. It can reason from your real listings, sales, and pricing rules without pretending to know a market norm it cannot verify.

What happens when you ask it to change prices?

Reading your store does not change it. For a pricing-rule change, the assistant prepares a proposal showing affected cards and impact. Hoard applies that rule change only after you approve it, with server-side safeguards still in place. Other write actions have different behavior; check the capability map before granting write access.
