For ordinary TCGplayer Marketplace sales, Pro's 2.5% fee comes with a commission reduction from 10.75% to 9.25%. That makes the extra cost about 1% of your shipped Marketplace sales before fee caps, not 2.5% on top of the standard rate. Whether that's worth it depends on the time and control you gain.
If you're deciding whether to enroll in Pro, compare the total Marketplace fees before and after, not the Pro Fee in isolation. Then put a dollar value on the work its tools would replace in your store. This page makes both parts explicit. It covers Pro versus a standard TCGplayer Marketplace account, not Pro versus a third-party tool; for that decision, see the Pro and Hoard comparison.
TCGplayer lists no monthly enrollment fee for Pro. On shipped online Marketplace sales, a standard seller pays 10.75% commission; a Pro seller pays 9.25% commission plus a 2.5% Pro Fee. On sales below the per-product fee cap, that is 10.75% versus 11.75% of the order subtotal, a one-percentage-point difference. Both accounts also pay the same Marketplace transaction fee of 2.5% of the order total plus $0.30 per transaction, so it does not change this comparison.
| Monthly shipped Marketplace subtotal | Standard commission | Pro commission + Pro Fee | Extra cost of Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $537.50 | $587.50 | $50 |
| $20,000 | $2,150 | $2,350 | $200 |
These are illustrations for uncapped Marketplace sales, not a quote for your store. Direct, your Pro Website, in-store pickup, and high-value products that hit the $75 per-product cap follow different calculations. Use the TCGplayer fee calculator for your actual mix.
The Pro bundle also includes Quicklist card-scanning software and Live Scan, the camera-capture mode inside Scan & Identify, along with scheduled MassPrice rules, channel controls, an in-store kiosk, and a Pro Website. Scan & Identify's core import tool is already included for any Level 4 seller, with or without Pro; Pro adds Quicklist and the one-by-one Live Scan capture on top of that. The value depends on what you will actually use. If intake is your bottleneck, time saved identifying and entering cards may matter more than repricing. If your catalog is already clean and your staff rarely touches prices, the bundle may save little.
Start with last month's shipped TCGplayer Marketplace subtotal. For ordinary uncapped sales, multiply it by 1% to estimate Pro's extra monthly commission and Pro Fee. Then count only the labor you can actually stop doing or the margin you can reasonably preserve with Pro's tools. At $5,000 in Marketplace sales, saving three staff hours valued at $20 each would cover the illustrative $50 fee difference; saving one hour would not. This does not assume any change in sales volume or price.
Before enrolling, write down which task you expect Pro to change, how many hours it takes now, and how you'll measure the difference after a month. If the value comes from your Pro Website or in-store sales, calculate those channels separately rather than applying the Marketplace 1% shortcut to them.
MassPrice lets you select products, a TCGplayer price point such as Market or Low, minimum and maximum prices, and a rule to run manually or on chosen days and times. TCGplayer recommends previewing a rule before its first run and periodically checking the resulting prices. It also says MassPrice does not update products added as Listings with Photos.
That makes the decision practical: are scheduled rules using TCGplayer price points sufficient for the products you sell? Test a representative batch (fast-moving cards, slow-moving cards, unusual printings, and high-value stock) against the rule preview. If you need a different signal or more frequent intervention, document which listings actually require it before paying for another repricer. The MassPrice workflow guide walks through the rule setup in detail.
Pro is worth it when the intake, pricing, and channel work you can measure exceeds its incremental cost for your actual sales mix. It is harder to justify if you already have an efficient workflow and would enroll only because “2.5%” sounds like a flat software price. On ordinary Marketplace sales, the relevant increment is about 1%; on other channels and capped products, calculate it separately. Do not credit Pro with hypothetical sales increases you cannot observe.
Either way, the Pro Fee is one line in a bigger fee stack, not the whole picture. See the full breakdown of TCGplayer's fee structure for how it sits alongside marketplace commission and the other fees on a sale.
If the rule preview shows that MassPrice does not fit your pricing process, compare Pro with Hoard by workflow before adding another tool. Hoard's flat monthly tiers make that software cost explicit; they do not replace TCGplayer's marketplace fees.
TCGplayer lists no monthly enrollment fee. A 2.5% Pro Fee applies to shipped online sales, but Pro also lowers standard Marketplace commission from 10.75% to 9.25%. In-store pickup is exempt from the Pro Fee.
A bundle: Quicklist and Live Scan (Scan & Identify's camera-capture mode) for fast intake, MassPrice's scheduled repricing, channel-level pricing and quantity control, an in-store kiosk, and a Pro Website. Level 4 sellers already get Scan & Identify's core import tool without Pro.
It updates selected products using rules and TCGplayer price points, run manually or on chosen days and times. Preview your rules, check the results, and note that TCGplayer says Listings with Photos are not updated.
Compare the incremental fees on your actual sales mix with measurable time or margin saved by the tools you will use. For ordinary uncapped Marketplace sales, the commission-plus-Pro difference is about 1% of the order subtotal, not 2.5% on top of standard commission.
